Senior League underway

The Bulldogs Presidents grade kicked off the season at Murphy Park with their match against Hornby played in good spirits.

But it was the clash of the titans to start the season for the Premiers and Reserves, who faced the Linwood Keas, in a repeat of last year's final. The Keas are chasing their 6th consecutive title. The Bulldogs were certainly up for the game at Nga Puna Wai, with Nick Wain racking up his 100th premier appearance for the Bulldogs. However, the Keas were pretty dominant, getting out to a 16-4 lead by halftime, and coming home to win 26-16. The scorers for the Bulldogs were Petaia Saukuri, Ben Wicksteed, and Ethan Plaskett, with Josh Endacott slotting two goals.

The Reserves were also beaten by the Linwood Keas 36-20. There is much to build on for the Northern Bulldogs and no doubt they will once again be in the mix at the end of the season.
