Rangiora High School met Christchurch Boys High School 4th XI in the Ara Institute 1st XI Bowl competition, at Dudley Park on Saturday. Christchurch Boys set about constructing a solid innings with opener Theo Friend the backbone, batting through nearly 27 overs. However, his 18 runs from 78 balls proved to be the top score, such was the quality of the bowling. Jack Sail was the best of the Rangiora High bowlers taking 4 wickets for only 19 runs from his 8.3 overs, including three maidens. He also chimed in with a catch. Rangiora High eyed the gettable total, and Archie Prain 37, Kyle Gamble 19, and Jack Sail 17 set a strong foundation for Andrew Prain 28 not out, and Jordan Nortman 8 not out, to finish off. A good effort from the team who now have two wins from their four matches. The Colts Gold team had a decisive win over Methven. The Gold team put on 121/10, with Alex Robinson the top scorer, 43 not out. They then bowled Methven out for 97, with the bet of the bowlers, Max Dunbar and Harry Witt taking two wickets each.
