Pam FraserI have been around sport all my life and am an avid photographer.  Having completed a degree in communications, became a sports administrator. I also enjoy coaching.  Recently I decided to follow my passion and join the freelance world, in photography and journalism.  My husband and I have three children and enjoy watching their sport, and travelling.

The battle for the semifinalists for the Country one-day cricket competition continued this weekend. In the top of the table clash, Sefton thumped a depleted Leeston Southbridge side. Mizuno Ballpark in Christchurch hosted the Mainland U15 Open Softball Championship, with Kaiapoi Softball entered in both the boys and girls competitions. Both the Kaiapoi Kings and Queens softball teams had wins over the weekend.  The men’s team hit in 8 runs against Halswell, to win 8-3.  This result gets them off the bottom of the table. This weekend they face the PCU Devils. Points: Papanui 41, PCU 30, Albion 26, Kaiapoi 18, Halswell 16. North Canterbury BMX riders claimed two South Island titles, plus six other podium places, after the Championships were held on their home track over the weekend. The event was a credit to all of the volunteers who helped get the track ready, officiated, and looked after the competitors on race day.
